Dress Code Requirements

Important Dress Code Rule: No crop tops are permitted in any DBC classes.

Ballet, Pointe & Pre-Pointe

• Leotards of any color are permitted.
• All dancers must own a nice NAVY leotard for promotional photos, guest teachers, and special events.
• Classic pink tights
• Pink canvas ballet shoes (preferably SoDança — please ask Mrs. Melissa for recommendations)
• Pointe shoes (if applicable)
• Hair must be secured neatly in a bun.(Short hair must be secured away from the face.)

Important Pointe Shoe Information

• All new pointe shoes must be inspected by a DBC teacher before sewing.
• DBC also has someone available to properly sew pointe shoes if needed.

Pre-Pointe Required Supplies

• Theraband
• Tennis ball or lacrosse ball
• Yoga block

Boys Ballet Dress Code

• White shirt
• Black shorts
• White or black socks
• White or black ballet shoes

Jazz

• Any color leotard or fitted long top
• Tan or pink tights
• Sport shorts or leggings
• Black or tan Bloch jazz shoes
• Hair secured in a ponytail

Contemporary / Lyrical

• Any color leotard or fitted long top
• Tan or pink tights
• Sport shorts or leggings
• Barefoot or turners
• Hair secured in a ponytail

Hip Hop

• Fitted long top
• Sport shorts or leggings
• Tennis shoes that are worn only at DBC (treat them like your ballet shoes)

Most dancers are choosing this style

However, dancers may choose any style of shoe they prefer as long as they are only worn at DBC.

Acro

• Any color leotard or fitted long top
• Tan or pink tights
• Sport shorts or leggings
• Barefoot
• Hair secured in a ponytail

Additional Dress Code Notes

• Please write your dancer’s name on all dance supplies.
• We recommend placing names:  
    Inside dance shoes
    On inside tags of leotards and skirts

Important Reminders

• NO crop tops are permitted in any classes.
• Jewelry is limited to small earrings only.
• Dancers should always come to class with a BOTTLE OF WATER.
